Personal Experience
Tmara Senior from Dewsbury:
I think the government should encourage disabled people to take jobs alongside non-disabled people instead of using social enterprises. I think with employers it comes down to attitude and how willing an employer is to work with you to support you as a disabled person in whatever role you apply for. The more disabled people are encouraged to go down the more disability friendly routes to employment the less we integrate with society. If the government encouraged regular employers to take disabled people on then it would help push companies to work out how they can support a disabled person in the work place. The only way we as disabled people can change the attitude of employers is by speaking up and trying to work.
