26 January 2011 Disability Living Allowance - The proposed changes and how to get your voice heard
February 14 is an important day in the lives of the 2.7 million disabled people who receive Disability Living Allowance (DLA). It marks the deadline for submissions to the Government's consultation on their proposed changes to DLA and its replacement with the new Personal Independence Payment for adults aged 16-64.
As we are now less than three weeks from the deadline day, I thought it would be helpful to take a step back from what is a sometimes bewildering amount of information, disinformation and discussion on this disability benefit. Therefore, I've put together a quick review of what has been proposed, how it will affect us and what you with the support of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign can do about it.
Find out more about what's planned and what we can do about it....
