Evidence in the area

Steve Ledbrook from Weston-Super-Mare says:

The ignorance the airport staff showed about my disability made the whole experience really stressful. I normally use a powered wheelchair but I decided to use my crutches as I thought it would be easier to get onto the plane. I couldn't believe it when they told me I had to put my walking sticks into the airport scanner and then walk through the metal detector. I can't walk without them, so how was I supposed to do that? Getting on the plane was a nightmare too as I couldn't get up the steps. They carried me in the end which was pretty painful.

James Ledbrook from Weston-Super-Mare says:

A lot more research is needed from people who know all about problems faced by anyone with a disability. Of course this is time consuming and costly but information needs to be updated regularly.
