24 April 2012 Midlands Trailblazers welcome new members

Trailblazers in the Midlands held their latest regional group meeting in Nottingham on Saturday 21st April.Midlands regional group meeting 2

Trailblazers ambassadors Jagz Sehmbi, Nirav Shah and Vivek Gohil were joined by new members Joe Hazel and Neil Corfield as well as family members and friends.

The group debated and shared ideas and solutions on important issues including, further education and sixth form colleges, housing, disability harassment and accessible transport. 

In the afternoon session the group watched and discussed the Trailblazers' cinema documentary Lights, Camera, Access and watched a screening of ‘A Life Worth Living: Pushing the Limits of Duchenne'

The campaigners were also updated on the activities of the All Party Parliamentary Group's evidence sessions on access to university and tourism.

It was an excellent Midlands meeting. We watched the fantastic A Life Worth Living: Pushing the Limits of Duchenne documentary by Jon Hastie - and I encourage you to check it out!

I was pleased to see the new members fitting into the group so easily  at the meeting on Saturday. New people bring new and fresh ideas which only makes us stronger. I'm really looking forward to the next meeting pencilled in for the autumn.
