Saturday 10 November 2012
Trailblazers from across Northern Ireland met up at the Holiday Inn in Belfast on Saturday. The event was a chance for the group to discuss their personal experiences of growing up with a disability as well as recent APPG events and the recent launch of the airlines report Up in the Air.
During the meeting, the group spilt up into pairs to interview each other to get a picture of the common experiences and difficulties faced by young disabled people living in Northern Ireland in 2012. This explored options for the upcoming Northern Ireland report.
There was a discussion about the recent APPG into airlines and the report Up in the Air which published the findings of Trailblazers investigation into the difficulties of accessing air travel. The challenges of finding accessible housing were also discussed.
The group look forward to the upcoming publication of the APPG report which will be published next week and focus on many different aspects of social inclusion.
