Evidence in the area

David Lowe from Chesterfield says:

The bigger hotels are better, but we have had a problem in the past where the lift wasn't working to take us to the leisure facilities. When we contacted the hotel manger he said we could have used an alternative route- this was outside into busy traffic with no footpath. On our return home we took it further and were offered a free nights stay, but were annoyed as we had stayed there originally for a special reason. We took up the offer and used it some months later only to find the lift was still not working.

Mathy Selvakumaran from Worksop says:

Lots of tourist attractions are really helpful for people in wheelchairs, but when they see someone with a disability who can walk, they assume that they don't need the same sort of facilities and can cope without them. I find that if I ask they are more than willing to help, but can sometimes be more hesitant/unaware of what to do than hotel staff.
