12 September 2011 Trailblazers launch video conferencing at North of England meetings
Last week, Trailblazers in the North of England joined forces at events held in Cumbria and Newcastle.
Trailblazers had the opportunity to get an update on the recent cinema investigation and watch a screening of the trailer for the much anticipated documentary Lights, Camera Access?
Some members of the network who were unable to physically attend in Newcastle successfully joined the event via Skype, an idea which Trailblazers will explore for use at future events.
Campaigners at the events also discussed the recently publicised disability harassment and hate crime investigaion together with some impressive local campaigning successes.
Dave Gale, Ambassador for Cumbria and the North East gave a presentation in Penrith, Cumbria outlining his work with Cumbria County Council. He said:
The aim is to improve accessibility of public transport in the region, initially with the quality of information provided and in the long term the infrastructure and physical access.

What do you think of using Skype when you can't attend regional meetings? We want to hear your thoughts!
