1 September 2011 Northern Ireland Trailblazers set to work on national investigation
After a series of events and training sessions held in Belfast, the Northern Ireland Trailblazers are launching a nationwide survey on acessibility in the region.
Trailblazers from across Northern Ireland are set to put transport providers, employers, colleges, universities and leisure facilities to the test, to raise awareness and improve local services.
Ambasador blogs, local research and a national survey will contribute to the investigation and the findings will be published in a report towards the end of the year.
Trailblazers founder member and National Ambassador Michaela Hollywood said:
Since it's launch in 2008, Trailblazers have raised awareness on issues affecting young disabled people across the UK. I'm so pleased that Northern Ireland will now be under the spotlight, so local challenges can be raised with key service providers. As always I am certain we shall have some thoughts on how improvements can be made.
