30 April 2012 South West Trailblazers battle weather to make meeting in Taunton
South West Trailblazers met in Taunton at the weekend where the group welcomed new members.
On a damp saturday in late April the group gathered at the Holiday Inn Express to discuss the many issues that are affecting young disabled people in the Westcountry.
Trailblazers Steve and James Ledbrook were joined by Kim Randle, who had recently returned from a job secondment in Newcastle, and new member Matthew Barrett as well as Trailblazers project manager Bobby Ancil.
The meeting covered the Trailblazers' ongoing Housing investigation and survey, highlighting the challenges many people face finding a property that is right for them, as well as the well reported frustrations of negotiating Disabled Facilities Grants
Trailblazers Project Manager Bobby Ancil said:
It's always good to welcome new members to the Trailblazers network. It's a shame the weather was so poor as some people were unable to make it along, but it was still an inspiring meeting and great that we could watch the two films and discuss their key themes.
